A great launch party

So on Thursday night, we had a blow-out book launch party at a spot in Seattle called Cafe Metropolitan. The interior looks like a Paris street scene in a faux Vegas-meets-Disney kind of way. I made five batches of m beef bourgignone recipe, marinating it for two days. Some caterers provided crepes, cheese and charcuterie platters. Wine flowed, as did “Biere de Cordon Bleu” as about 100 guests filed in. We sold out of the books provided by University Bookstore, where I’m doing my first reading on Monday, October 8th at 7 p.m.

The highlight, though, were the three burlesque dancers that we hired as entertainment, including “Fuschia Foxx” shown here. My friend Heath’s husband commented, “Wow, that wasn’t very book-ish…”
