I’ve spent a lot of time on planes recently crisscrossing the country. Thanks to the miracle of in-flight Wi-Fi, this means I’ve spent a lot of time online. Here’s a few nods to stuff I’ve found on my favorite food blogs in the past week.
- The Seattle Food Geek had the rare opportunity to spend time in the workshop of famed knife artisan Bob Kramer.
- Francis Lam over at Salon dedicated an impressive amount of space to Spam, and tried it as sashimi, sautéed, broiled and fried.
- David Leite reported on research by Hunch.com about the variance in the diets between PC and Mac users. (Apparently, I eat like an Apple person, although I lean toward PC laptops.)
- I caught up on Shauna’s doing at Gluten Free Girl and had to share her reasoning on why she doesn’t use cups in recipes. I totally agree with her reasoning on why using weight as a measure, rather than the imperfect system of cups and volume.
Recipes I’ve added to my “to cook” file: Greek pita pocket sandwiches from Dianasaur Dishes; quick wok-fired squid with greens from Food52; crispy potato roast from SmittenKitchen; and spicy Thai basil clams from Fat of the Land.
